thank you for comments but I'm getting a bit confused in CR products.
I managed to get to SP3 from the site in your comment. SP4 didn't want to be installed saying it can't find the product which I suppose should be SP3 as SP4 is incremental.
But even SP3 didn't give me any new dlls in Visual Studio. I then downloaded and installed CRforVS_13_0_5 from http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_5.exe. This needed extra googling and yet another utility to successfully install. This gave me new dlls (version 13.something).
How are the runtimes from site you suggested and dlls connected?
I'm using the up to date VS 2010 (planning to go on 2013). Why should VS 2008 and lower be ok and VS 2010 and higher not?
